ZACH Theatre Presents: “A Christmas Carol”
November 23- December 31
Ring in the holidays with ZACH Theatre’s hit production of A Christmas Carol! This rockin’ show provides musical fun for the whole family with a modern twist on Charles Dickens’ classic tale. Come celebrate the season with three soulful ghosts, the Cratchit family’s boundless love, and Ebenezer Scrooge’s miraculous and joyous transformation.
Zilker Park’s Trail of Lights
December 10- December 23
The Trail of Lights is part of the essential Austin experience, lighting up the season with a celebration of community, memories, and fun. General admission is free from Dec. 10 through Dec. 16. Ticket proceeds go towards the Austin Trail of Lights foundation, which is dedicating to ensuring the long-term sustainability of the tradition. The event also includes food and drink vendors and a Ferris Wheel and carousel.
Blue Genie Art Bazaar
November 25 – December 24
Get your holiday shopping fix at the Blue Genie Art Bazaar. Shoppers can browse thousands of original works ranging from serious art to fun and kitschy items. This fixture of the Austin holiday season is a great way to support local artists while buying hassle-free holiday gifts.
Ice Skating on the Roof
November 27 – January 7
Hit the roof for a unique holiday skating event! Skating on the Plaza takes place on the roof of the Whole Foods Market on South Lamar. Lots of fun for the whole family! Admission is $10 per person and includes skate rental.
Austin’s New Year 2017
Ring in the new year at a fun, family-friendly celebration complete with local musicians, art installations, food trucks and kids’ activities. The event, hosted by the City of Austin, kicks off at 3 p.m. and includes a fireworks display starting at 10 p.m.
